Are you ready for the Developer Artifex Mundi’s next and final installment of Nightmare From the Deep, well here it is. Nightmare From the Deep 3: Davy Jones. This game is like I said, the final installment in the Nightmare From the Deep series. This third final installment features many great puzzles to solve, areas to explore, and characters to meet. Nightmare From the Deep 3 features a point and click style of game play while also implementing various puzzles and items for you to disover. This game centers around a female museum custodian Sara Black and her Daughter Cory. The plot begins when Sara announces that she has proof that the mysterious caption Davy Jones actually existed and that his treasure lies on a far away cursed island.

As Sara is beginning her speech odd things begin to happen and Davy Jones himself appears. After Talking with him you are taken to Davy Jone’s ship and thrown in the brig. After freeing yourself through various puzzles you eventually escape and get to a life boat but Davy stops you in his tracks. Upon stopping Sara he starts making her walk the plank. After that Sara’s daughter Cory signs a pact with Davy Jones in order to keep her mother safe but instead was tricked and Sara was forced off of the ship anyway. This is where the real plot of the game comes in because as Sara you must go to the cursed island and save Cory before it is to late. At first I expected this to be a normal point and click style puzzle game. But in fact it turned out to be way more immersive than I thought.

The puzzles are vast and some require that you find a certain item or solve an item find in order to be able to solve it. As for the kind of puzzles they do vary from hidden object to various mini games which will test your brain and logical skills. Nightmare From the Deep 3 also has many hidden collectibles to find scattered around the 68 locations you get to see. The items range from 12 seahorses, 10 pirate cards and 24 puzzle pieces. Personally I have had a great time with this game. It tells a really weird but very interesting story. It has some very marvelous locations that you can visit while you are on the cursed island. And some of the puzzles actually had me thinking. The UI is very simple as when you collect an item it goes into a hot bar at the bottom of the screen which is very easy to access. Mouse movement is smooth as well and in no way finicky like other point and click games. I had a great time playing Nightmare From the Deep and hope to see more from Artifex Mundi.

Final Verdict: Overall I had a pretty interesting time playing this game. It has an interesting story, fun mini-games and puzzles to solve, and many areas to explore. I really recommend this game to gamers who really enjoy a challenging point and click style puzzle game.
